Homemade lava lamps

 In science elective this week we made lava lamps. Unfortunately we didn't get to take them home because we made them in a group and it'd be unfair of one of us took them home in the others didn't it was very fun when we added the hill and it's the larval and started producing here up to the top and then that it would come right back down and then go back up again.When you added the tablet piece, it sank to the bottom and started dissolving and creating a gas. As the gas bubbles rose, they took some of the colored water with them. When the blob of water reached the top, the gas escaped and down went the water.  Check out the school like to see how to make lava lamps at home.

Making bath bombs

This week in science electives we made bath bombs  for Mother's Day which was a very fun activity.

When we were making the bath bombs we had to make sure we didn't put too much water and liquid on to the dry powder it was very challenging because you had to add water but you had to had the right amount or it would start visit in your bath bomb would be ruined. The results in the science behind our Observations When a bath bomb comes in contact with water, the baking soda and citric acid react to make carbon dioxide bubbles. This is an acid–base reaction, where baking soda (also called sodium bicarbonate) is a weak base and citric acid is a weak acid.

Bath Bomb Recipe What you will need: (dry) - 1 cup of baking soda 1/2 cup of citric acid  1/2 cup of epsom salt (wet) - 1 tsp of water 1 tsp of essential oil 3 tsp of olive oil / coconut oil / Almond oil 2-3 drops of food coloring  Measure out and whisk together your dry ingredients in a large bowl. Next, in a small cup, mix together the wet ingredients. This is also where you’ll add the essential oils.  The next step is very important. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. You’ll want to do this very slowly, adding little drops at a time while mixing. The citric acid is what causes the bath bombs to fizz when it comes into contact with water. Adding the wet ingredients slowly minimizes this affect. Then, firmly press the mixture into the mould.  Let the bath bombs dry for at least 24 hours.

Camp reflections/ Animation!

 We were reflected  about canp and the cool awesome experiences that we did there like kayaks  and other cool things.

I found it easy to create an animation about my favourite part at camp which was kayaking because it was really fun because you got to push people off.

I found it hard remember what I felt and did on camp because I didn't finish it on cam which I think I should have because then I wouldn't have so much work to do.

Next time to improve on my work that I have done and my animation include in my booklet I think I should do more work at camp so then my ideas are fresh in my mind so I won't have to remember them.

My favourite part of the Horouta story animation

• We were learning about the history of our district , how the Horouta waka came to Gisborne and the surrounding areas. My animation is about when Horouta waka hit the sandbank by Gisborne/ tairawhiti.

• I found it easy to create a digital animation about the Horouta waka and polyline lots of different things which I really enjoyed.

• I found it challenging to pick my favourite part of the story because I like the whole story and I didn't want to pick the same thing as everyone else did.

• Next time I will spend more time on polyline and more detail to my backgrounds and Waka. I really enjoyed this this activity because I thought it was really cool to make an animation because we don't do many animation.

Pb4l logo

I was learning about create an PBFL for our logo that represents our school and how kind in nice we are.

I found it hard to record my audio in a quiet and respectful space.

I found it easy to think of a cool exciting logo that represents our pb4l and our school.

I really enjoyed polyline in pictures in inserting shapes.

Next time I will try and make sure my logo doesn't have any words. 

Sunflower.

this writing session we were focusing on getting rid of the boring words and adding rich powerful and effective and verbs.

I found it easy to make the rich sentences into Word Art.

 I found it hard to correct all my spelling and edit my work.

I'm most enjoy during this writing session is publishing my work and an in backgrounds and change in the fox.

School triathlon

 This writing session we were learning about getting right off the boring words and replacing them with powerful and rich words.

This writing session I found it hard to and powerful and rich words to my writing.

This writing solution I found it easy to publish my writing and add fonts and pictures as backgrounds.

The thing that I most enjoyed about this session was writing about the triathlon because I like doing sport and triathlon
